Portuguese cuisine is known for its fabulous use of seafood, cooked with spices from the former colonies of Macau and Goa. The fish market at Cascais, just outside Lisbon, is one of the best in the world. Fado then is in with a major problem from the beginning: the lack of seafood available in Bucharest. It copes by ignoring fish almost completely and concentrating on other unconvincing Portuguese favourites such as... stuffed mushrooms and creme caramel. They do have port though.
